Amanda Seyfried Was Disgusted When An Interveiwer Told Her She Hadn’t Washed Her Hair In Weeks

Hollywood actress Amanda Seyfried found herself in an unexpectedly awkward moment during a recent interview when journalist Saskia Mariott casually revealed she hadn’t washed her hair in two weeks.

The conversation initially revolved around beauty routines and the long-term effects of tight hairstyles. Seyfried was discussing the impact of constantly pulling her hair back, even joking at one point, “My Botox is wearing off…”

Mariott chimed in, explaining her preference for slicked-back styles: “So that’s why I wear a scrape back because it kind of keeps you the way to look.”

But Seyfried quickly warned against making that a habit. “Don’t do that. My mom’s hair won’t go down anymore. It just stays back because she only wears ponytails and I’m like, so I’m constantly trying to tease my hair back down,” she said, highlighting the potential damage caused by tight, repetitive styling.

Mariott agreed about the downsides, admitting, “I’m receding already, I’m screwed because of that.”

That’s when the conversation took an unexpected turn.

While explaining her own hairstyle, Mariott casually confessed, “I’ve had it in, I’ve washed my hair in like two weeks because I just… I know it’s gross.”

Seyfried’s expression transformed into one of pure astonishment, her face frozen in what can only be described as polite horror. The actress held the look for several seconds as Mariott continued to explain her reasoning.

“Two weeks?! Stop,” she responded, clearly taken aback.

As Mariott attempted to clarify, she added, “This has got no product in it, this is just pure grease.”

Trying to soften the moment, Seyfriend insisted, “It actually doesn’t look grease.”

However, Seyfried wasn’t convinced. “Two weeks? Are you f**king kidding me?” she asked.

Mariott went on to explain that she had even avoided washing her hair before attending the Wuthering Heights premiere the previous night, despite rainy weather. “I was like, I’m not getting my hair wet for that, so I just was just like, I’ll just leave it, it’s fine.”

She then attempted to reassure Seyfried: “I live on my own, no one can smell it.”

Seyfried immediately pushed back on that logic. “But YOU can smell it,” she pointed out.

“Not yet,” Mariott replied.

That answer only deepened Seyfried’s disbelief. “My scalp starts to smell after three days,” the actress admitted.

Mariott later clarified that although she doesn’t wash her hair frequently, she does maintain overall hygiene. When Amanda asked, “Do you shower?” Mariott replied: “Yes. Yeah, I live alone but I’m not gross.”
