Long before Akaash Singh walked down the aisle, his Flagrant podcast co-host Andrew Schulz nearly talked himself out of a wedding invitation.
During a brutally honest conversation six years ago on their podcast, Schulz made observations about relationships that hit a little too close to home, particularly when it came to Akaash’s future wife, Jasleen.
The infamous moment centered around a discussion about women and their menstrual cycles, where Singh attempted to navigate the delicate territory of addressing period-related mood changes with his own girlfriend.
During the conversation, Singh revealed a surprising detail about Jasleen that became a running joke: despite her impressive resume working at Goldman Sachs and Deloitte—two of the world’s most prestigious financial institutions—she apparently couldn’t operate an ATM machine.
The revelation came when Singh asked his girlfriend to pay for a meal using his credit card, only to watch her stare at the card machine. He said: “I gave her my card. I was like, ‘Yo, can you pay for this? I got to do this thing.’ And the way she looked at the credit card machine was like she was looking at a f**king like X-ray machine or something. She was just like, ‘I don’t. Where does the card go?’ Like, she’s trying to do nuclear fission, trying to pay for one thing.”
Aakash then went on to say that the incident made him realize that Jasleen hadn’t paid for anything in their relationship. He said, “And I was like, we ate at least 100 meals. And this lets me know you haven’t paid for a single f**king one of them.”
In the podcast, Singh’s co-host Schulz also talked about how he was almost uninvited from Aakash and Jasleen’s wedding. Schulz stated: “I just got out of he dog house with his girl. I wasn’t invited to the wedding. But now I’m good.”
Singh then says that he’s a groomsman which takes Schulz by surprise. He says, “I’m a groomsman?”
Fortunately, Akaash and Jasleen eventually forgave his co-host, and Schulz made it to the wedding after all.
