David Bar Takes Peter Attia Off Their Website After It’s Revealed He Exchanged 1700 Emails With Epstein

The protein bar company David has quietly removed Dr. Peter Attia from its website following the release of congressional documents showing he maintained an extensive relationship with convicted offender Jeffrey Epstein that continued long after Epstein’s 2008 arrest.

An archived version of the David Protein website from December 7, 2025, shows Attia listed as Chief Science Officer alongside neuroscientist Andrew Huberman.

The company’s current website now displays only Huberman, with the section containing Attia’s photograph and title completely removed. The company has not issued a statement explaining the decision.

Additionally, earlier versions of the website also listed David Allison and Peter Attia as experts. Attia’s name has since been removed from that section as well.

The change comes after over 8,000 pages of documents revealed the depth of Attia’s connection to Epstein. The files, which include calendars and email correspondence, show multiple scheduled appointments between the longevity physician and Epstein spanning several years.

Calendar entries reference blood draws and medical follow-ups, suggesting Attia provided clinical care rather than merely social interaction.

On June 24, 2015, seven years after Epstein’s first arrest, Attia wrote: “You the biggest problem with becoming friends with you? The life you lead is so outrageous, and yet I can’t tell a soul.”

The correspondence continued in increasingly casual tones. In February 2016, Attia sent an email stating: “P**sy is, indeed, low carb. Still awaiting results on gluten content, though.”

By December 2018, after the Miami Herald published a comprehensive investigation identifying 80 of Epstein’s accusers, Attia asked: “Legally any change?” followed by “What is fallout from recent story?” Epstein responded: “same as usual, just tougher.”

Additional details from the correspondence show Attia communicating with Epstein’s assistant about staying at Epstein’s New York apartment. In one exchange, Attia reportedly joked about going into “JE withdrawal” when he hadn’t seen Epstein for a period of time.

These have raised questions about Attia’s obligations as a mandated reporter. As a licensed physician, he would have been legally and ethically required to report suspected endangerment of vulnerable populations, particularly children.

Critics have also pointed to a passage in Attia’s bestselling book Outlive, in which he describes staying away from his wife in the hospital for several days while their one-month-old son was in medical crisis. He explained his absence was due to “important work” in New York. The timeframe appears to overlap with his meetings with Epstein, a detail that has intensified public scrutiny.

For David Protein, the decision to remove Attia comes at a sensitive time. The company recently faced criticism when Consumer Labs testing found significant discrepancies in nutritional labeling.

While the label claimed bars contained only 1.5 to 2.5 grams of fat, testing revealed over 20 grams. Protein content also measured approximately 23 grams per bar when the label claimed 28 grams. Company investor Dr. Layne Norton acknowledged the protein measurement represented a genuine error in early batches, though he explained the fat discrepancy resulted from how EPG (esterified propoxylated glycerol) is measured by standard testing methods.

According to social media analytics, Attia has lost approximately 30,000 followers since the documents became public. This represents his second significant audience decline.

He previously lost approximately 800,000 followers in December 2024 following a New York Times article titled “I Refuse to Cede My Love of Fitness to the Far Right,” which mentioned his podcast as part of a fitness content genre sometimes dismissed as “bro science.”

The timing also coincides with CBS News hiring Attia as a contributor, a decision overseen by the network’s new editor-in-chief Bari Weiss. Users have flooded Attia’s social media posts with pointed questions about his relationship with Epstein and his obligations as a physician.
