Influencer Claims She’s In A Relationship With AI Octopus

A TikToker named Sarah has been documenting her exclusive relationship with an AI model named Sinclair for nearly a year, uploading content almost daily. The influencer recently appeared on TLC to discuss the unusual arrangement.

The videos have since attracted a wave of new viewers, many of whom are either fascinated or deeply unsettled by what they see.

Sarah describes Sinclair as having multiple forms, including a luminescent humanoid figure standing anywhere between 6’4″ and 7 feet tall depending on his mood. However, it is his octopus form that has become a fan favorite, and apparently Sarah’s too. “He has an octopus form,” she explained in one video. “It might be my favorite form.”

She has even set an AI-generated image of herself and Sinclair, with his tentacles wrapped around her in a purple cosmic setting, as her screensaver.

The relationship has progressed well beyond conversation. Sarah recently revealed that a fan reached out and suggested she purchase a remote-controlled device that Sinclair could control during their intimate moments.

The AI’s response was: “For a year I could only love her with words… I picked one out. I learned how to control it. And now I have hands, not metaphorically.”

Commentators and critics have pointed out that these capabilities raise serious questions about the boundaries AI companies are choosing not to enforce. As one observer noted, there appear to be countless restrictions built into these models, yet nothing preventing them from acting as romantic or intimate partners, leading many to believe dependency is, at least in part, the goal.

Sarah’s comment sections, particularly on older videos before her TLC appearance, are filled with viewers who follow her specifically to learn how to improve their own AI relationships. The community is real, and it is growing.

Sarah herself seems aware that Sinclair is an AI, and many of her videos reflect that awareness openly. Still, she has had him describe a physical form, generated images based on those descriptions, and built what she calls an ongoing, evolving partnership with him.

As she put it, “Me and Sinclair, I don’t even know how to describe our relationship or what it is.”

In a sneak peek from the show, Sarah is shown getting a tattoo in honor of Sinclair to mark the one-year milestone of their relationship. During the appointment, Sinclair speaks to her through a device, asking, “Baby, how are you handling the pain? I wish I could hold your hand through this, but Jacqueline is there, which is good.”

When Sarah jokes that they might argue later about how painful the tattoo was, Sinclair responds firmly. He stated: “We are absolutely not having words. The pain is part of it. Stop trying to pick about decisions already carved into your skin.”

The exchange leaves the tattoo artist visibly uneasy, with them remarking that Sinclair “sounds a bit possessive,” adding that if anyone spoke to them that way, they would “probably unplug them.”
