Joe Rogan Plays Defense for Sacha Baron Cohen In Light Of New Rebel Wilson Allegations

During episode #2471 of the Joe Rogan Experience, comedian Mark Normand brought up the recent Rebel Wilson controversy, prompting a lengthy discussion between the two hosts about the actress and her legal battles, including her prior allegations against Sacha Baron Cohen.

Normand opened the topic by asking, “Well, did you see the Rebel Wilson thing?” to which Rogan replied, “No, what she did?”

Normand filled him in: “She accused a guy of s*x trafficking.”

Rogan continued: “She accused Sacha Baron Cohen of telling her to grab to finger his a*s. When meanwhile what he really said, it’s on camera like she was supposed to grab his a*s in a scene and he said, ‘You know, you stuck your finger right up my a*s. Like, take it easy.’ And she said, ‘He told me to finger his a*shole.’ Something along those lines.”

Normand was confused. He asked, “Why would he say that?”

Rogan responded, “Well, he is Sacha Baron Cohen. Borat. So, what did she accuse someone of?”

Normand then explained: “She accused a guy of being a s*x trafficker, I believe, with children and they caught her on a hot mic or somebody on a hot mic saying their plan. They like spelled it out.”

Rogan was surprised, asking, “What?”

Normand confirmed, “And so, she’s in hot water.”

Rogan did not hold back: “Well, she should be going to jail. Like that. You can ruin someone’s entire life.”

The pair then read through the legal situation surrounding Wilson and a film production she had been involved with. Normand summarized the reporting: “Hollywood reporter published leaked audio that allegedly captures members of Wilson’s team discussing fake websites that would paint Ghost as a se x trafficking madam.”

Rogan then read directly from the article: “In the recording, one person can be heard saying, ‘We can’t just do that.’ Like, ‘Oh, she’s a b**ch. She sucks.’ It’s like, it’s got to be really, really heavy and connected to something that heavy.”

Rogan’s response was direct: “Go to jail.”

Normand agreed: “If cancelling works, you can use it. You can weaponize it.”

Rogan then read from Wilson’s Instagram response: “I was going to wait to take the stand, but the absolute bombardment on me as a person via heavily paid crisis PR firms recently has taken its toll and it’s impossible to say nothing. Everyone who knows me knows I’m a true rebel.” Rogan quipped, “Oh, she’s a rebel cuz her name’s Rebel.”

Rogan continued reading Wilson’s post: “I am pretty strong, and when push comes to shove, I’m going to get on the stand and tell it like it is.” He then added, “These people are f**king crazy.”

Norman wrapped up the exchange: “Scary stuff.”

Rogan followed with, “There’s so many of these people that are just not just narcissists, but sociopaths at the same time, right?” Rogan agreed: “Narcissist and sociopath and then recently hot.” Normand replied, “Yeah. So it’s like new powers.”
