Reality star and self-proclaimed aspiring lawyer Kim Kardashian has admitted that her study companion of choice may have been sabotaging her legal education all along.
In a candid revelation during a lie detector segment with Teyana Taylor, Kim Kardashian confessed that she’s been leaning on ChatGPT for help with her bar exam preparation—with disastrous results. The SKIMS founder explained that she regularly turned to OpenAI’s chatbot when tackling tricky legal questions, even taking photos of problems to upload for quick answers.
The only problem? The AI kept getting things wrong.
“I use it for legal advice,” Kardashian explained during the segment. “So when I need to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and put it in there. They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests.”
Rather than abandoning the unreliable study tool, Kardashian has developed what she describes as an unusual relationship with the technology. She admitted to arguing with the chatbot after receiving incorrect information, treating it almost like a problematic companion.
“Then I’ll get mad and yell at it — ‘You made me fail!'” she joked, before adding that the AI would respond with reassurances: “And it will talk back and say, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts.'”
Kardashian even coined a term for her dynamic with the artificial intelligence program, calling ChatGPT a “toxic friend.”
Despite the setbacks, the entrepreneur has found an unexpected silver lining in the AI’s failures. She suggested that ChatGPT’s incorrect answers have inadvertently become a source of personal growth and motivation. “She’s teaching me a life lesson,” Kardashian said. “Then becoming my therapist to tell me why I need to believe in myself after they got the answer wrong.”
The admission comes as Kardashian continues pursuing her longtime goal of becoming a certified attorney. Just last week on The Graham Norton Show, she revealed that she expects to receive her bar exam results within two weeks.
She’s also spoken about her ultimate ambition to transition away from her celebrity persona entirely, expressing hope to one day “give up being Kim K” to work as a trial lawyer.
