Mortal Kombat Actor: Andrew Schulz Is The Last Person That Should Be Talking S**t, Not Really A Fighter, Not Even Really An Actor

Lewis Tan, known for playing Cole Young in the Mortal Kombat film franchise, did not hold back when the topic of comedian Andrew Schulz in his new show came up during an interview with Brandon Davis.

The conversation started when Davis brought up a moment from what he described as the MTV Awards, where the Street Fighter cast appeared on stage. Davis recalled it as a “clearly playful thing,” referencing Schulz talking during the appearance. That is when Tan fired back without hesitation.

“Andrew Schulz is the last person that should be talking s**t on that stage,” Tan said. “Not really a fighter. Not even really an actor really, but you know.”

Davis reacted with a laughing “uh oh,” suggesting the comments could add some real heat to the Street Fighter versus Mortal Kombat conversation that fans have been stirring up online. Tan, however, was quick to clarify that his feelings toward the Street Fighter cast itself were far more warm.

“I got a lot of friends on that cast,” he said. “Even Rayna, who is in there, incredible martial artist. We did Cobra Kai together… She is an incredible martial artist. She is in Street Fighter. Andrew Koji, who is very good close friends with Joe Taslim and myself. Also great martial artist.”

When Davis asked directly whether there was a Street Fighter versus Mortal Kombat rivalry developing, Tan leaned into it.

“I mean, yeah. Let’s go, bro,” he said with a laugh. “I think it could be one of those things where maybe they complement each other and they both crush it,” Davis stated.

Tan agreed, saying: “I think it is funny. And I also think, you know, people have been posting like Street Fighter versus Mortal Kombat this year. And I love it, man. I love a good rivalry. So let’s go, baby.”

He also took a confident shot when it came to timing and performance. Mortal Kombat 2 is scheduled ahead of the Street Fighter release, and Tan was not shy about acknowledging that.

“We come out first. I think they are in October,” he said, before adding, “Numbers don’t lie.”

Tan also touched on where Mortal Kombat 2 stands as a film overall, calling it “probably the best combat film of the year.”
