Professor Jiang: America Is Moving Toward Becoming Theocratic Society, Where Religious Ideologies Influence Political Decisions

In a recent conversation on the Jack Neel podcast, Professor Jiang, a high school history teacher and geopolitical analyst, outlined what he sees as a quiet but accelerating shift in America toward theocracy, driven by an alliance between Christian nationalism and the technology sector.

At the center of his argument is Donald Trump himself. Professor Jiang believes Trump is not merely a political figure but one who operates from a deeply personal religious conviction.

“He believes in his heart he is on a mission from God to save America,” Jiang said. “He feels he has a divine connection to God that no one else does. He feels that he’s almost like Jesus where he’s on a secret messianic mission that only he understands.”

This messianic self-image, Jiang argues, filters directly into policy. Trump’s political coalition is not simply conservative, it is increasingly fused with religious eschatology, the study of end times.

Groups such as Christian Z*onists and messianic Jews believe that by engineering specific events in the Middle East, including conflict with Iran and the potential reconstruction of a third temple in Jerusalem, they are actively fulfilling divine prophecy. These beliefs, Jiang contends, are not fringe curiosities. They are operational frameworks guiding real decisions made by powerful people.

Jiang points to the emerging alliance between figures like Peter Thiel and JD Vance as evidence of how Christian nationalism is merging with Silicon Valley’s ambitions.

“Think of the Handmaid’s Tale but digitized,” he said, describing a vision where America becomes a theocratic state supported by digital surveillance and artificial intelligence. In that model, religious doctrine provides the social order while technology enforces it.

“America should become a theocracy because how do you explain the system? The answer is because it is God’s will,” Jiang said, summarizing the worldview gaining ground among certain influential factions.
