Adam Carolla warns America’s future lies between MMA with Joe Rogan or becoming Trans: There’ll be nothing in between

In a recent conversation on The Joe Rogan Experience, comedian and podcast guest Adam Carolla painted a stark picture of America’s cultural trajectory, warning that the nation is fracturing into two irreconcilable camps with no middle ground remaining.

“Safe spaces and octagons,” Carolla told Rogan when asked about society’s direction. “The f**king safe space people are going to go further that way. And then there’s a group of people that are moving to Florida and moving to Texas and they’re going the other direction.”

Carolla’s observation reflects a growing concern among cultural commentators that America is witnessing an unprecedented polarization, not just politically but in fundamental lifestyle choices and values.

He elaborated on this divide with a visceral example: “In LA, when they started pushing electric cars, I started seeing tons of Ram Duty pickup trucks popping up. Like every for every one person you push into an electric car or a Prius, another dude buys a Ram and puts a gun rack on it.”

The comedian’s analysis suggests that cultural pushback has created a bifurcated society where traditional masculinity and progressive gender ideology exist in completely separate universes. “It’s going to be move out to Texas and practice MMA with Joe Rogan or it’s going to be move to Seattle and get your d**k cut off. And there’ll be nothing in between,” Carolla said bluntly. “That’s the ultimate civil war.”

Carolla, who built houses before becoming a comedian, noted that construction workers maintained a practical relationship with risk and danger that office workers lack. This fundamental difference in worldview, he argued, explains why blue-collar communities largely rejected pandemic hysteria while white-collar environments embraced extreme safety measures.

“The job site guys are the most even guys I’ve ever hung out with,” Carolla observed. “COVID, neither here nor there to the workers, to the dudes putting on the tool bags and swinging the hammer.” He contrasted this with white-collar workers who “don’t have a relationship with danger” and consequently “don’t know what to do with danger.”

Rogan and Carolla also discussed the biological and environmental factors potentially contributing to societal softening. Rogan pointed to research about microplastics disrupting endocrine systems, while

Carolla noted the disappearance of physical necessity in modern life. “Why do you need to be able to fight anymore? You don’t need it,” Carolla said. “Everything is computerized and air conditioned and you’re in your cubicle.”

The conversation touched on the increasingly common phenomenon of gender transition, with Carolla suggesting it represents one extreme of the cultural divide. When discussing where humanity might be headed, both comedians referenced the stereotypical alien archetype: genderless, weak-bodied, with oversized heads.

“If you threw your considerable weight behind my new product, Jacked Alien… We would kill it,” Carolla joked, before learning such a brand already exists.

Carolla’s central thesis—that America is splitting into incompatible tribes defined by radically different values around gender, physicality, risk-taking, and masculinity—echoes concerns raised by numerous observers across the political spectrum. The comedian’s colorful language may be provocative, but his underlying message resonates with millions of Americans who feel the middle ground evaporating beneath their feet.
