Model calls out Cryptobro over viral fake girlfriend post

A social media controversy has erupted after actor and model Karsyn Bailee publicly accused crypto influencer Nick O’Neill of misrepresenting their professional relationship to his followers.

Bailee, who works as an actor, model, and content creator, took to X (formerly Twitter) to set the record straight after O’Neill, known online as Choose Rich, posted a photo suggesting she was his romantic partner.

According to Bailee, she was hired for $400 to appear in several short video skits and was assured she would have approval over what content she participated in.

“Mr Nick O’Neill (Choose Rich) misled and embarrassed me with this post,” Bailee wrote in her statement. “I was paid $400 to act in some skits. I had to confirm what skits I was comfortable with. I didn’t know this pic was being posted and I didn’t know the caption. He also refused to tag me after in anything.”

The original post that sparked the controversy featured O’Neill and Bailee posing together, accompanied by a caption that read: “43-years-old, new girlfriend, new yacht, no kids, crypto millionaire. Does it get any better than this?”

The post quickly gained traction across social media platforms, with many users believing the relationship to be genuine.

The situation took another unexpected turn when O’Neill posted a follow-up video on October 19, claiming “My girlfriend broke up with me.” In the video, he stated that Bailee had “went silent” on him and “stopped responding to messages,” continuing the narrative that they had been in a romantic relationship.

Bailee’s clarification post rapidly went viral as users shared their support for the model and criticized O’Neill’s approach. She has since created an X profile where she has been addressing the incident and its aftermath with her growing audience.

Reflecting on the experience, Bailee shared a pointed message on October 19: “This was very much a lesson learned for me. No amount of money is worth jeopardizing your moral compass.”
