Streamer Asmongold Parts Ways With Talent Agency He Founded After Endorsing Bringing Back Slurs

Popular content creator Asmongold has parted ways with Mythic Talent, the agency he co-founded in 2023, following a wave of online backlash tied to controversial statements he made publicly.

Recently, a clip of Asmongold began circulating widely. In it, he praised creator BurntPeanut for what he described as bringing back the “old gaming” culture. Shouting him out, Asmongold said, “He reps old gaming. If you play FPS games, that is your guy… racist jokes, slurs, politically incorrect comments… this is a cultural victory.”

Reflecting on how moderation has changed online gaming spaces, he added, “I want to be able to say slurs again. Whenever I play an online game and I can’t use those words, I feel like a pit bull.”

The separation, announced by the agency on social media, was framed as a mutual decision, though many observers have read it differently.

Mythic Talent released a statement reading, “We have spoken with Asmongold and mutually agreed to part ways. Mythic represents creators from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, and we are committed to fostering an environment grounded in respect and responsibility. We remain focused on supporting our creators and continuing our mission to help them build sustainable long-term careers.”

The carefully worded announcement did little to clarify what specifically led to the split. Neither Mythic Talent nor Asmongold publicly addressed the precise reason for the separation, though it came shortly after creator and commentator Kaceytron posted a list of all brands and talent affiliated with Mythic Talent, urging people to question their association with Asmongold.

Her post was itself a response to a clip shared by Hasan Abi showing Asmongold appearing to reverse his previous stance on military involvement in Iran, saying, “I am so happy this has happened. I am just dramatically, tremendously happy this has happened. I know that obviously I’ve talked about it for a long time about how big of a problem Iran is and everything. I was a big supporter of us b*mbing them before and now we’re bombing them again and this is just amazing.”

The situation at Mythic Talent extends beyond Asmongold’s departure. The agency has faced a string of difficult headlines in recent months. It previously parted ways with creator Techone following a protective order that restricted him from contacting or discussing fellow creator Pinkchu for ten years, and also barred him from owning f*rearms.

More recently, allegations surfaced that the agency had shorted a VTuber known as Grimmie on two separate sponsorship deals. In one instance, she was set to receive $2,100 but received a contract for only $2,000. In a second deal, she was owed $4,400 but received only $4,000. Mythic attributed the discrepancies to a typo that was resolved with the brand.

Creator Nicholas Light also announced, while on vacation celebrating his one-year wedding anniversary, that Mythic Talent had parted ways with him, making him yet another in a growing list of creators let go by the agency.

Despite the public separation, Asmongold reportedly retains equity in Mythic Talent, raising questions about the true nature of the split. As a co-founder, his financial stake in the company remains intact even as his public association with it has been severed.
