Theo Von Is Only Now Starting To Realize How Far Gone Joe Rogan Is

Theo Von‘s recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience has people talking, and not necessarily for the reasons Joe Rogan might have hoped. Throughout the episode, Theo went after topics like Israel, the war in Iran, billionaires, and the Epstein files with a level of intensity that seemed to genuinely catch Joe off guard.

According to sources, what made the podcast truly revealing was not what Theo said. It was how Joe responded to it.

For much of last year, Theo was firmly in the MAGA orbit, dining with Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, joking around with JD Vance, and generally playing the role of a friendly court jester for that entire circle. So when Theo showed up to Joe’s podcast and started going after the very people he was previously cozying up to, it raised eyebrows.

But more importantly, it seemed to expose just how carefully Joe now manages what gets said on his show.

When Theo brought up Palantir’s alleged involvement in Gaza since 2014, Joe’s reaction was telling. After producer Jamie pulled up an article on the topic, Joe quickly dismissed it, saying, “This is for sure a biased source just by the way they phrase that.”

This is a well-documented fact that is even referenced on Palantir’s own website, yet Joe played completely dumb to it all.

Then there was the moment Theo started talking about politicians, religious leaders, and where public money goes, saying, “Everybody is scared out of their wits right now. Our religious leaders are afraid to speak out.”

Rather than engage with any of it, Joe told him, “We got to get you off those anti-depressants, son. You’re losing your marbles.” Knowing full well that Theo has spoken openly about mental health struggles, using that against him to shut down a conversation is a notable choice.

Joe’s discomfort was visible every time Theo circled back to these topics, even in the middle of lighter conversations. At one point Theo asked him directly, “Do you think things would be any different with America’s relationship in the Middle East right now if Trump hadn’t won, or do you think it’s all the same?” Joe gave a vague non-answer and redirected immediately.

Some time back, Joe had done a podcast with Dave Smith where he called MAGA supporters “a bunch of dorks” and suggested the Obama administration handled deportations better than Trump. That was enough for JD Vance to publicly announce he was going to text Joe to correct him. That kind of direct government contact with a podcaster is not subtle.
