About Rude Vulture
At the intersection of ancient wisdom and cutting-edge science, Rude Vulture swoops into the unexplored territories of human performance. We’re not your typical wellness blog – we’re a collective of martial artists, scientists, and biohackers obsessed with optimizing the human experience through both time-tested traditions and innovative research.
Our Mission
We challenge conventional wisdom by bringing scientific rigor to ancestral practices and martial arts wisdom. Through careful self-experimentation, data-driven analysis, and deep dives into traditional knowledge systems, we explore the boundaries of human potential. Our articles bridge the gap between laboratory findings and real-world application, offering readers actionable insights for their own optimization journey.
Meet Our Team
Oswin Wex
Born to British diplomats in Hong Kong, Oswin discovered wing chun at age 8 and never looked back. After a brief career in quantitative trading, he left the financial world to pursue his true passion: documenting the scientific basis behind traditional martial arts practices. With a background in data science and a certification in functional medicine, Oswin brings analytical rigor to Rude Vulture’s wildest theories. He is notorious for self-experimenting with nootropics before sparring sessions and publishing the results.
Gio Silva
A former capoeira instructor turned biohacking enthusiast, Gio spent his early years bouncing between São Paulo and Miami before settling in Austin. With a master’s in sports physiology and a penchant for experimenting with traditional Brazilian herbs, he’s become Rude Vulture’s go-to expert on movement optimization and plant-based performance enhancement. When not writing about the intersection of martial arts and ancestral living, he runs an underground fight gym where participants are required to follow strict circadian rhythm protocols.
Sophie Hearns
A third-generation judoka and former pharmaceutical researcher, Sophie made waves in the biohacking community after publishing her controversial opinion piece. She brings her unique blend of laboratory precision and martial arts intuition to Rude Vulture’s most thought-provoking pieces. When not writing about peptide protocols for recovery between training sessions, she teaches women’s self-defense classes incorporating breathwork and cold exposure.
Our Approach
Every article on Rude Vulture sits at the crossroads of three core principles:
- Scientific Rigor: We back our claims with peer-reviewed research and carefully documented self-experiments
- Traditional Wisdom: Ancient practices contain deep insights that modern science is only beginning to understand
- Real-World Application: Theory means nothing without practical application in training and daily life
