Viral Drama Involving His Wife Has Akaash Singh on the Outs With Longtime Friend Andrew Schulz

What began as internet drama surrounding Akaash Singh‘s wife Jasleen has apparently cost him more than just his reputation. Within a matter of months, Singh went from co-hosting one of the biggest comedy podcasts in the world to walking away from it entirely, and the situation may have taken his friendship with Andrew Schulz along with it.

The first sign that something was wrong came when people noticed Singh had quietly unfollowed Schulz on social media. Jasleen did the same.

Schulz eventually addressed Singh’s absence on the show, framing it as a career decision. “He has made the decision to focus all of his energy on standup,” Schulz said on air. “He is going to be stepping away from the pod. It is bittersweet.” Few people took that explanation at face value.

The roots of the fallout go back to when Jasleen launched her own podcast and clips began circulating that painted an unflattering picture of their marriage. Things Singh had said publicly for years about their relationship suddenly came under scrutiny, and the commentary online was relentless. Rather than getting support from his closest friend, Singh reportedly watched Schulz treat the whole situation as content.

“I would watch the videos and I would d*e laughing,” Schulz admitted. “As a friend who loves him, I would d*e laughing.”

That response landed poorly with Singh, who later made comments that many took as being directed at Schulz.

“We are supposed to be really good friends and you are saying stuff or letting stuff slide,” Singh said. “And I am like, ah, this is…” He also added: “You are not a bad person. You just really want the fame and you might be kind of broken. If you have seen the other side of fame and you have experienced it and you still want it, there is probably something wrong with you.”

Schulz, for his part, did not hold back either during what became a widely discussed episode of Flagrant featuring Jasine.

“Keep your wife off the internet,” he said at one point. Even co-host Charlamagne tha God stated, “I am out here getting the money. Let me use some of this money to help you do some other things. You do not need a microphone in your face because you are going to ruin us.”

Whether Singh left on his own terms or was pushed out remains unclear, but the outcome is the same.
