During his appearance on The Iced Coffee Hour, influencer Mizkif had quite a bit to say about fellow content creator Asmongold, covering everything from his finances to his lifestyle and evolution as a creator.
While talking about Asmongold’s finances, Mizkif said, “I personally believe he probably leaves it under his mattress,” suggesting that Asmongold is not particularly concerned with traditional money management.
When pressed on whether Asmongold invests his earnings, Mizkif doubled down. “I promise you he’s not,” he said. “Or he, I just don’t think he cares.”
He continued by explaining that Asmongold’s priorities appear to lie elsewhere. “I think between Kick, his normal money he makes, and everything else, that dude genuinely does not care about money,” Mizkif said. “He cares much more about the growth of his channel and the success of his broadcast than he ever will money.”
Reflecting on their earlier relationship, he added, “He didn’t care about money when I first met him. He just never cared because for him, he knows this is the life I live and it’s $3,000 a month and he doesn’t want more.”
Mizkif also spoke about Asmongold turning down significant sponsorship opportunities, describing a pattern that surprised him. “He would have $100,000 sponsors and he’d be like, ‘I don’t want to do it,'” he said. “Like, it’s three hours. Why? I don’t want to do it because I just want to go to bed.”
He emphasized how unusual that mindset is in the industry. “You’re not going to stay live for three hours to do a $100,000 sponsor? Nope. Doesn’t want to do it,” Mizkif said. He went on to describe even larger offers that were reportedly declined.
“He’s had offers for like half a million dollars for the dumbest s**t, like just stre am our game and put a YouTube video up,” he said. “He’s like, ‘Nah, don’t want to.’ And he doesn’t do it because he just does not care about money.”
Still, Mizkif expressed skepticism about whether meaningful change is likely. “So I believe he’s taking steps to get better,” he said. “But I also know the dude probably just is going to continue doing the way he does. He’s not a guy of change ever.”
Mizkif was also genuinely complimentary about Asmongold’s strategic thinking as a creator, pointing to how he diversified his content over time. “Asmongold first started off as a WoW stre amer and he knew that WoW is not going to be there forever,” he said.
He explained that this awareness led to deliberate changes in content direction. “So what he did is he started to react to videos and those react videos did really well,” Mizkif said. “Then from gaming industry he went to just the industries in general.” He continued outlining the progression. “He started getting more into technology and talking about that and now he has the biggest web of them all which is politics.”
Mizkif framed this evolution as a smart long-term move. “And he’s 35 years old,” he said. “That’s smart to do because you’re growing with your age.”
